ATLANTA — Following the recent launch of Microsoft Project 2010, Innovative-e, Inc. and O’Reilly Media are partnering to offer a free two-hour Webinar entitled “Effectively Planning, Tracking and Controlling Projects with Microsoft Project 2010.” Innovative-e, Inc. managing partner, Dux Raymond Sy, will lead the online interactive presentation, which will take place June 25 at 10 a.m. PDT. The cost to attend is free; however, registration is required.

Project 2010 debuted at the May 12th launch of Office 2010 and SharePoint 2010. Project 2010 is considered the most significant release for Project in more than a decade, featuring new innovative capabilities designed to work with Microsoft Project’s family of products: Project Standard 2010, Project Professional 2010 and Project Server 2010.
“Project managers today have to work within tight schedules and manage frequent changes to the scope of work, all with limited resources. Understanding how to effectively use Microsoft Project 2010 can help project managers break a project down into manageable parts, define a realistic schedule, identify required resources and track projects effectively,” said Sy.

Sy will show attendees how to leverage Microsoft Project 2010 from initial planning to project closing. He will demonstrate how to:

• Define a project schedule based on a project start or finish date
• Utilize a relevant project calendar
• Identify tasks and dependencies
• Enter task estimates based on duration, work or resources
• Outline resources and specify task assignments
• Track project actuals against project baseline information
• Create relevant reports for stakeholders
• Integrate with SharePoint 2010
• Manage multiple projects with shared resources

With more than 15 years of experience in Information Technology, Sy has earned a reputation as being among the leading experts in leveraging technology to enhance project management. He is currently a managing partner and the chief evangelist of Innovative-e, Inc., a Microsoft Gold Certified Partner that helps clients achieve tangible business results with Microsoft SharePoint solutions. He is a certified project management professional (PMP), as well as the author of SharePoint for Project Management, published by O’Reilly Media.
