Challenge: The company 2 Minute Metric developed the Human Performance Model to measure the organizational health of companies and employees. This tool collects data from employees using surveys to help identify the weaknesses, strengths and areas of improvement for an organization. While the tool was effective in providing an overview of the health of a company, capturing and recording data manually reduced the profitability of the tool and compromised the integrity of the data. As a result, an automated system was needed to capitalize on the full potential of the Human Performance Model.

Objectives: To take full advantage of the capabilities of the Human Performance Model, 2 Minute Metric needed an automated version of the tool that would:

Make the tool available online to increase access
Capture, track and report data electronically
Improve the integrity of the data
Segment data more easily and efficiently
Increase the productivity of consultants administering the tool
Ensure anonymity of participants

Solution: Innovative-e, Inc. automated the Human Performance Model by creating an on-demand web-based software application that captures, tracks and reports data electronically. The application is accessible through any Internet portal and is password protected to ensure privacy. The application is externally hosted to prevent 2 Minute Metric from dealing with server maintenance issues, backup and network failures.

Results: Automating the system and making it available online enabled 2 Minute Metric to serve a much broader client base. Prior to implementing the system, a maximum of 50 surveys could be processed per week. Now the company can process up to 10,000 surveys simultaneously using the web-based application. With the manual system, it used to take 2 Minute Metric consultants 15 minutes per participant to administer a survey. Now that the surveys are available online, participants can access them on their own time without the assistance of a consultant.

In addition to speeding up the data processing, the automated system has secured the anonymity of the participants and improved the integrity of the data. The new automated system also makes it easy to track and compare data over time, which allows companies to identify downward trends before they turn into crippling problems.
